In the quarterfinals Camp Factory would
continue their domination with a 5-0 drubbing
over New Orleans Hurricanes, another team
new to the Semipro division. The Newbies
then handed Blast Camp their first loss of the
tournament; Colorado Blitz beat Brawl; and
Annapolis A-Team beat a very strong CEEP 8-3. Twenty-one teams entered the NXL Las Vegas
Open in Division Two and not a single one won
all four of their preliminary round games. And
by the same token, no team in this division lost
all four of their preliminary round games. That’s
how evenly matched this division appears to
be early on in the 2020 season.
In the Semipro semifinals the Noobies won
a very slow moving 2-0 game to advance to
the finals. Camp Factory won their semifinal
matchup against Annapolis A-Team in a really
good game, 6-4. PaintballFit.com, Killers and CO Blitz got off
to a good start in Vegas, each winning three
of their opening round games. All three would
play well enough to make it to Sunday and into
the quarterfinal rounds. There it was Killers
beating TNB 5-0; Lockdown over CO Blitz 6-3;
Plumlife over Seattle Ninjas 2-1; and NRG Elite
Alpha over PaintballFit.com 4-3. Lockdown
and Killers advanced through the semifinals to
meet in the final round that would decide the
event’s winner in Division Two. Killers would
come out on top 3-1, game... match… set.
The Semipro finals matchup between the
French Camp Factory Team last year’s 14th
ranked Noobies again ended with a Camp
Factory win as they go wire to wire without a
loss. This one was another show of dominance
by the French squad, 7-2. Colorado Blitz won
the consolation game against A-Team 5-2.
