What is your history in paintball? How did you get into the game? Do you play? How often, how long?
I started playing paintball in the late 80s but during the mid-90s and early 2000s I created Team Hudson Valley Paintball and our team played both woodsball and speedball. We played in some of the most iconic and most fun paintball tournaments, back in what I call the Hay Day of Paintball. Events like Skyball, Zap Open, and the World Cup when it was held at Disney. But for me, paintball is not just a sport, it’ s a lifestyle. Many of the players and industry leaders are like family to me. A brief bit of personal paintball history: my wife Jenn was the NPPL coordinator before it split into PSP and NPPL. We met at the old Survival NY, where I was in the Guard at the time. At our wedding, the USMA West Point Paintball Team, along with other military paintballers, were the honor guard during the ceremony. When I was younger, I used to play paintball all the time, but now that I’ m older, my body doesn’ t let me play as much as I want to.
What companies, teams, etc., have you done patches for?
We have been making patches for a large number of teams, fields, stores, and companies. The complete list is extensive, but we have made patches, lanyards and other promotional material for West Point Paintball, Viper Paintball, Oklahoma D-Day, Fulda Gap, Lapco, Engler Custom, and many more. Recently we’ ve partnered with Eric Engler, from Engler Paintball Guns, as well as the Behind the Bunker Podcast to make their patches.
What does a team or company need to do to order patches from you? Do you or they create the graphics? Ordering couldn’ t be easier! All they must do is go to www. MyPaintballPatches. com and fill out our quote form. They can submit finished artwork, a napkin drawing, or simply a description of what they are looking for. We have a full staff of experienced artists ready to design their patches, 100 % free with their order.
What are some of your short and longterm goals in paintball?
When I started, my long-term goal was“ keep playing, and helping the sport of paintball grow”, which I firmly believe I’ ve met. My short-term goal is“ to keep playing as long as my body will let me”. For MyPaintballPatches. com, our short-term and long-term goal is the same: To help teams, stores, and companies build their image by making them look good.
Are you involved in any other things paintball-related?
I am going to answer this with a broad answer. Yes. When half of your friends and family are part of the paintball industry, you can’ t avoid getting involved in something paintball related. But I am going to give a plug to the West Point Cadet Paintball club and invite everyone to come to that game. Go to CombatClassic. com for more information.
Do you offer anything besides patches? Yes! We offer pins, challenge coins, dead rags( airsoft), lanyards, decals / stickers, and even tactical clothing. Just visit MyPaintballPatches. com and have a peek at what we can do for you.
Anything else you want to add or talk about? We look forward to attending next year’ s Paintball Extravaganza. If you are looking to get a patch made for your team, store, field, or company, just remember to head to MyPaintballPatches. com.“ Your image is our business.”
