Nas and 50 Cent
merged sets at Summer Jam 2014 and it was classic. It has been much growth since the Queens
natives had beef, and there was even more reuniting when G-Unit and some of Hip Hop’s best of today
hit the stage. Nas blessed the audience with a quick run through of songs from his 20th year album
Illmatic, opening his segment with “N.Y. State of Mind.” He also touched his most recent album, Life
is Good. Nas brought out Philly’s own, Meek Mill, and French Montana who collaborated to perform
“They Don’t Love You No More”.
Nas introduced 50 Cent to the Summer Jam stage for the first time in a decade. The crowd
bounced with the whole G - Unit, Fabolous and others to early 2000 hits till today.
The best of Hip
Hop & R&B
was lined up at Summer Jam this year. From the
festival stage with Jhene Aiko, Mack Wilds,
August Alsina, Nipsey Hustle to Iggy Azelea,
performances were on high. Main stage
performances Troy Ave, Kid Ink, Wiz Khalifa, and
Trey Songz had the stadium lit. Most artist showed
love to Chris Brown who was featured on several
songs. Chris was released from prison the day
after. MetLife was packed with thousands of Hip
Hop fans enjoying good performances, special
guest and live sets from HOT 97 DJs.
