Painting Your Next Canvas
"The external world is a canvas where you paint with the colors of your soul."
~Michael Bernard Beckwith

o you remember the first time you dreamed
about competing in pageants? You were
probably excited about exploring the possibilities
towards the first steps that you would take. You
reverse engineered the process using your imagination
and you could already see yourself on the stage for
the first time in a beautiful gown, doing your best and
winning. You spent a great majority of your time
dreaming and planning for the moment that you
would be selected to compete at different levels,
visualizing yourself growing through the process and
enjoying the journey. It was in those moments that you
had become an artist who was painting a new canvas
of adventure and creating your mental masterpiece
for stepping into the pageant industry.
Now, after years of competing and making some of
your dreams come true, you find yourself at the
crossroads of wondering what could be next for you
after the journey before you exit the stage one last time.
This is when you remind yourself of the time when
you began dreamin g of pageant competitions and
knowing that you wanted it more than anything. Once
again, you will become a painter and start working on
a new canvas to create your next masterpiece for a new
life and career.
Here are a few questions to consider asking yourself
for exploring next steps:
* What am I most passionate about now?
* What career or new ventures are calling me forth?
* What have I learned during my time in the pageant
industry that can help me create a new life?
* What other dreams have I not fulfilled yet?
* Would I like to work in the pageant arena at a higher
level?
Next, I invite you to tap into your creative side and
get an actual sketchbook or a poster board and title it:

My New Life & Career on Canvas. So, what would
that look like based on some of your discoveries from
the questions? Make your creation colorful and write
down your brainstorming insights, dreams and new
goals in different colors. You can amp it up by adding
images and any other materials that would enhance
your vision.
You don't have to do this all in one sitting. Allow this
to be a process that you add to over time as you begin
making your transition to the next phase of your
lifestyle and career. If you're using the sketchbook
method, I would encourage you to journal on a regular
basis and create short, mid and long-term goals that
you want to accomplish leading up to your exit.
Having a master plan for your new masterpiece will
help you to successfully clarify your intentions, take
right inspired actions and execute with excellence.
The goal is to have fun with creating your new life and
career as you paint bigger dreams for your overall
success. As you make one exit from something that
you love, a new entrance awaits your arrival for a new
beginning. Always remember that you are the painter
of your life and you have the creative control for every
canvas of your adventures.
