Sweeping Incurable Diseases ( Pestilences & Plagues )
Still another sign of the Return of Christ is the increasing occurrence of sweeping and incurable diseases . Jesus called these diseases , pestilences . He said in Luke 21:11 —
Luke 21:11 ( NIV ) " There will be great earthquakes , famines and Pestilences in various places , "

With the increase in wars and famine there will be an increase in pestilence . Modern medicine has been able to cure some plagues which in the past have wiped out entire populations . Yet new incurable diseases find themselves plaguing mankind . Because of war and ignorance and the problems of distribution , some parts of the world cannot receive medical attention to stop a spreading plague . Jesus clearly taught that as we come to the end of time we will see sweeping incurable diseases becoming more active and deadly .
