The youth group from First Baptist Church , Winterhaven , Florida had just finished an exciting week of camp at Lifeweek in Toccoa Falls , Georgia . Before beginning their long bus ride back home , they drove into the mountains to do some white-water rafting . What a way to cap off a great week . As the group made their way down the steep mountain something terrible happened — the brakes went out ! The driver down-shifted but even this didn ' t stop them as the gears gave way , one after another . Soon they were hurling down a winding mountain road with no brakes and no transmission headed for a major wreck . The same thing will happen to the world . First the brakes will go , then the transmission . And when that happens , she will be hurling down the road at a reckless speed headed for a major wreck .

Humanoids-3D Holigrams — Virtually Reality ! ( p . 145 )
Val Sears , reporting from the Washington Conference of the American Association for the Advancement of Science , wrote of how cyberneticists — robotics scientists — can already imitate the behavior of men . Robots can " exhibit curiosity , learn from their mistakes , be creative in the sense that they can look for purposes which they can fulfill , reproduce themselves , and have an unlimited life span through a capacity for self-repair ." ( John Wesley White , Thinking the Unthinkable , p . 66 ).
" In short ," says cyberneticist D . Rorvik , " a generation of robots is rapidly evolving , a breed that can see , read , talk , learn and even feel emotions ." ( John Wesley White , Thinking the Unthinkable , p . 66 ).
