Daniel tells us that the Antichrist will have to face the greatest military challenge ever . Somehow the nations of the North will rebound and advance once again towards the Antichrist . But even worse than that will be the news that an army of 200 million from the East is advancing towards him for war ( see Revelation 9:14- 16 ). The stage will be set for the greatest warfare of all time . The great Battle of Armageddon will include hundreds of millions of men . It will be a war that the Antichrist will not win .

The world has never witnessed anything close to the death and destruction that will occur at the Battle of Armageddon . As the armies of the East march on Jerusalem , a third of the world ' s population will be slaughtered ( see Revelation 9:14-16 ). There will be so much bloodshed in the battle itself that the Bible tells us there will be blood up to the horse ' s bridles .
Revelation 14:20 ( NIV ) " They were trampled in the winepress outside the city , and blood flowed out of the press , rising as high as the horses ' bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia . "
