Armageddon is located near a small mountain by the Mediterranean Sea called Mount Megiddo . This mountain overlooks a valley that stretches out to the east . It is a valley that is 14 miles wide and 20 miles long . The Bible tells us that this famous valley will be the center point of the greatest war ever fought . The valley of Armageddon is a strategic place . It is one of the most important crossroads in Palestine . Napoleon , one of the greatest military leaders of all time , once stated that apart from Armageddon , perhaps there is no other location in the world where the armies of the world could gather for a mighty war .

At the end of the Tribulation , the world will find itself amassing its armies to descend upon Israel for a final battle . Satan , using powerful demons , will call hundreds of millions of soldiers to come from all over the world . It will be Satan ' s goal to wipe out the Jews and take a major stand against God . The Antichrist will have promised the world peace and prosperity . But he will not be able to fulfill his promises . Instead , the nations will have to endure one horrible crisis after another . Finally , large segments of this world will turn against the Antichrist . They will march on the Middle East to have a final brutal battle for world power .
