God does not want us floating through life p. There is a purpose in living and a purpose in dying . God has an eternal plan for the world and our lives . God asks all Christians to do far more than `eat drink and be merry .' He wants our lives to be totally different from those who don ' t know Christ . A Christian should understand that this life is just a few short years but eternity is what really matters . And when Christ returns , eternity will begin . The Apostle Paul talks about this in Philippians 3:19,20 —
