Jesus makes it clear that we as Christians do not know on what day He will come . Why is it that God has kept secret the timing of the Return of Christ ?

Because we have a human nature , we could easily become indifferent and lazy . If we knew the exact time of Christ ' s Return , we might ignore preparations for it until the very last moment . Christians would quickly lose the cutting edge of their faith and turn to indifference and laziness . Since we don ' t know the time of His Return , we must be constantly ready and alert at all times .
