When LAUSD does a “comp mod”, a comprehensive modernization, every building gets evaluated and brought to current standards. If it makes financial sense, some buildings are demolished and replaced. Sherman Oaks is getting three all new buildings, Lincoln High is getting one new building and having four more completely renovated. The district is also taking the opportunity to increase classroom count by knocking down some of their single- story buildings and replacing them with two-story classroom buildings. 7
