Education First Academy

Project Overview
Education First is one of the world’s largest
international education companies, with campuses
in 53 countries and international boarding schools
in the UK, New York and now in California. EF is
opening a new international boarding high school
in Pasadena, on the former campus of William
Carey University. Set to launch in September 2020,
Education First is renovating eight former university
buildings to adapt them for use as a live-in high
school campus. They’ll also build an all-new 262
bed dormitory building and upgrade the site
infrastructure. The 975-student private boarding
school will feature state of the art classrooms and
science labs, art studios, sports facilities, dining
commons and on-campus student dormitories.
Solutions
P2S Is providing MEPT design services for the
renovations, new dormitory building and utility
upgrades. We’re also designing additional LED
street lighting on the streets surrounding the
property, providing a photometric study and
designing new cold-water pumping stations.
Additional improvements include the replacement
of the medium voltage electrical distribution and
new underground medium voltage cables, a new
electrical switchgear, seismic gas shut off valves
at gas meter service connections and technology
infrastructure for voice, data, Wi-Fi, and security
systems.
