CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION STANDARDIZATION
The Construction Administration team is developing a process to streamline the CA phase
of projects. The team worked with individuals in every department to get input on what
works well, what doesn’t, and which items they would like to see incorporated. The goal is
to provide a complete set of guidelines that includes Request for Information (RFI) submittal,
ASI, etc. standard for filing and naming conventions. In addition, standard processes for field
investigation and punch list documentation are being developed. Training will be developed
and provided for the entire office to allow implementation of these processes.
FIELD DATA TRAINING, CAPTURE & INTEGRATION
Over 80% of our projects include the renovation of existing buildings and facilities, which
require detailed field investigation to capture the right data for a complete and accurate
design. This initiative includes a three-part approach to improve the field data journey for
our design staff. First, is discipline-specific field survey training to teach best practices in
the field. Second, new field data capture tools to enhance the field survey process. Third,
software integration tools to improve BIM coordination from field to office.
IoT DEVICE SECURITY
With over 7 billion connected devices in the world, network security is an increasingly
pressing challenge for building owners. The IoT Device Security initiative aims to develop
policies & procedures related to the specification of connected and IoT (Internet of Things)
driven devices including cyber-security best practices, product-specific hardening guides,
and network security questionnaires and guidance.
TECHNOLOGY TRENDS
P2S prides itself on utilizing the latest and greatest technologies to deliver value to our
customers. Keeping up with all the upcoming technology advancements is a big challenge in
staying ahead of our competitors. We need to constantly understand what is on the horizon,
how it will help/change our work, and when to start utilizing technologies. This initiative will
develop evaluation tools that help a small group quickly analyze the factors and present their
findings to leadership for evaluation and next steps.
