EDITOR’S LET TER
Kevin Peterson, President/CEO
Dear Reader,
P2S remains at the forefront of the energy efficiency revolution, working with
business owners, municipalities, school districts, universities and others to
decrease energy consumption and transition to renewable energy. As California
takes action to meet ambitious energy and emissions goals, we’re helping more
and more business owners discover that highly-efficient, sustainably designed
buildings will save them money through lower energy bills, reduced operation
costs, and less maintenance.
This is important, the building sector accounts for a significant share of global
energy use and associated greenhouse gas emissions. In major urban areas like
Los Angeles, building energy use is responsible for 70% of all emissions.
P2S stays ahead of the market and consistently finds new and better methods to
achieve higher efficiency and make solutions like Zero Net Energy buildings more
widely accessible. As the cost of PVs decreases further and other barriers to entry
continue to fall, Zero Net Energy will become much more accessible for home and
business owners.
This issue of P2S Quarterly features some of the latest ultra-efficient P2S projects
in the works. You’ll also be able to discover some of the finer points of Zero Net
Energy design from P2S COO, Kent Peterson, in an illuminating interview.
As always, please enjoy reading this issue of P2S Quarterly. I hope you have a
very pleasant autumn.
Sincerely,
