EDITOR’S LET TER
Kent Peterson, Vice President/COO
Dear Reader,
The global connectedness that our ports and harbors create, brings more
economic opportunities for everyone. The Port of Long Beach alone brings in
82.3 million metric tons of cargo annually, but more cargo carries a larger
environmental impact. P2S designs shore power and infrastructures solutions that
fulfill port needs, promote sustainability, and leaves clients equipped to meet
future demands.
In this issue, we talk to P2S engineers Mike Shen and Kent Sayler about their
experience working on various port projects and their thoughts on the outlook
for the future. Mike is an expert in energy conservation while Kent has designed
terminal automation and shore power projects that have dramatically reduced
diesel emissions at port terminals. Managing large-scale programs is no easy feat
and we’re lucky to be able to count on their considerable experience.
This issue also contains the latest P2S news, including new firm and individual
awards for 2018. We’re thrilled to announce that P2S CEO Kevin Peterson is one
of the top 50 CEOs in the United States as ranked by Glassdoor.com. Kevin has
always prioritized our staff’s wellbeing and the dedication and effort they give
every day is a reward in itself, but this honor is a fitting recognition for decades
of leadership.
As always, please enjoy reading this issue of P2S Quarterly. I hope you have a
very pleasant summer.
Sincerely,
