Editor’s Note
Dear Reader,
Kent Peterson
Vice President/COO
While this issue of P2S Magazine focuses on our work in the port
sector, we know that much of your attention is currently focused
elsewhere. COVID-19 has upended society in ways not seen within
our lifetimes. In response, P2S has done everything within our power
to ensure the health and safety of our staff and community, while
continuing to service clients. 90% of our team is now working from
home, and we’re conducting all meetings through teleconferencing.
We have detailed plans to ensure minimal disruption for ongoing
projects and will continue to refine our strategy as the situation
develops. At the end of the issue, we have also included more
detailed information on how we’re responding to the COVID-19 crisis.
With that said, we hope that this issue of P2S Magazine can help
shift your mind from the crisis, even if only for a few minutes. Our
port design services continue to be dynamic. As ports throughout
the country embark on transformative initiatives and work to meet
ambitious environmental and efficiency goals, our port design team
will continue to deliver exceptional design services to ports. This
issue of P2S Magazine covers recent port projects and also details
principles for efficient electrification of port equipment.
No matter how things progress in the coming weeks and months, we
know that we’ll emerge through this together. The necessary social
distancing measures we are all abiding by are only temporary. We
can’t wait to connect with clients in person when it is appropriate
to do so. Until then, we hope you stay safe and healthy in these
uncertain times.
Sincerely,
3
