P2S provided electrical , telecom and fire alarm engineering , along with bid and construction support services for a new Central Utility Plant at Revelle College . The new facility was designed to meet the Green Building Design Standards for New Buildings according to the UC Sustainable Practices Policy . It was also designed to meet Title 24 standards and the California Green Building Standards Code .
The project includes an approximately 20,000-square-foot building that can accommodate five 3,000-ton chillers , associated pumps , controls and accessories , along with an electrical room , offices and restrooms . The facility also has an outdoor utility yard to accommodate five cooling towers , a thermal storage tank , and transformers .
The new central plant is currently operational with two chillers , pumps , two cooling towers , and provision for future chillers , cooling towers and a thermal storage tank . Our team also designed a new selector switch for the complete system . Two of the four transformers were provided to serve the two chillers , associated pumps , cooling towers , and building loads . A 4160V switchgear and 480V switchboard were provided to serve the loads . The project was successfully constructed in September 2024 .
