We ’ ll be working on the same type of facilities we ’ re doing now , except that we ’ ll add a component for industrial and petrochemical commissioning . We ’ ll adapt to the local climate while bringing our expertise to help with new infrastructure and facilities . Saudi Arabia is constructing a brand-new international airport to bring tourists into their planned resort areas . These are all facility types we have considerable experience commissioning .
P2S Cx services a wide range of building types across many industries . How do you serve such a varied client base ?
DH : Since 2015 , P2S Cx expanded from the higher education sector into airports , hospitals , laboratories , mission-critical data centers , aerospace , department of defense and federal work . It ’ s just a variety of facility types that allowed us to grow our Cx department into what it is today . To service such a variety of clients and building types , P2S Cx has a highly experienced team with backgrounds and skills that correlate to different facility types . We always have a team member with considerable experience with a particular facility type who can lead the project and pass knowledge laterally to other Cx team members .
Can you share details about some notable recent projects ?
DH : We ’ re working on the Consolidated Rent-a-Car Facility ( ConRAC ) at LAX , which is currently the largest construction project in the United States at 6.5 million square feet . Also , at LAX , we just finished with the United Airlines Technical Operations Center , a hybrid maintenance hangar and offices . We ’ re also active in the American Airlines Terminal 4 modernization , our biggest project to date . We ’ re commissioning the new concourse . They ’ re taking down half of it at a time , so it ’ s going to be a two-phase project that ’ s going to take us all the way until 2028 .
What sets P2S Cx apart as a commissioning provider ? What advantages can owners expect from your team ?
DH : One thing that sets us apart is that we train continuously . We ensure that staff is trained and that they get certifications , not just because it benefits P2S Cx but also because it benefits that Cx provider ’ s career . I believe that staff should be trained to be the best and if they choose to go elsewhere , that ’ s their choice . Most of the other commissioning providers , our competitors , aren ’ t as focused on training , certifications and continuous career development the way we are .
Another thing to point out is that we have a very diverse and dynamic team of commissioning providers that bring different talents and skillsets to projects . This is something you don ’ t see in a lot of firms . Since we ’ re part of a bigger firm with engineering and construction management , we can pull in engineers and other support staff much more quickly than firms that only provide commissioning . If there ’ s a certain system on a project that we haven ’ t commissioned before , you can bet that there will be someone within P2S who will be familiar with it . This goes a long way towards client satisfaction .
