District-Wide Net-Zero Energy Implementation Plan
The San Bernardino Community College District was looking for innovative ways to develop a set of operating principles and guidelines in executing its responsibilities to facilities ’ design and operation , campus management and teaching and learning . In this way , the District aims to minimize adverse environmental impacts of activities under its control and oversight and promote initiatives that advance a sustainable environment .
P2S provided the following services : developing a campuswide Net Zero Energy Master Plan , reviewing potential sites for PV installation including existing building rooftops , developing payback analysis for each possible site , and developing the phasing plan for the system in the order of the economic viability . We also coordinated with DSA on existing building rooftop installation requirements , coordinated with utility providers on existing grandfathered rates and potential rates for a future agreement , coordinated with the utility on SGIP Incentives , sell back rates and islanding scenarios . Additional steps included performing an energy audit for all existing buildings , developing a baseline trend for energy consumption and greenhouse gas emission , and developing a report outlining our recommendations and phasing plans .

Zero Net Ready Athletics Complex
P2S provided MEP design for this new 77,670 SF main building and 11,020 SF support building . New football stadium , 50-meter swimming pool , softball field , track and practice field . Mechanical systems are designed to meet the project ’ s energy target of zero net energy and carbon-neutral ready . The system includes heat recovery chillers , dedicated outside air systems , AHUs with indirect evaporative cooling and radiant heating and cooling .
