Born fighting to protect the rural up county area, some forty-six years later the volunteers that power this organization are still standing strong against threats to the Reserve! As stewards of Linden Farm, our headquarters, and with agreement from Montgomery County, owner of the farm, we’re embarking on a new protective tactic; demonstrating that regenerative agriculture can be successful in the Ag Reserve. This system of farming principles and practices builds and enriches soils, increases profits and biodiversity, en- hances resilience to climate instability, improves water infiltration rates, and captures and retains more carbon in soil to help reverse global climate trends. Although we’re in the early stages of this project, we’re going to show that regenerative farming can provide both healthy, nutrient-dense food for consumers and profit for the farmer—while we measure the positive changes to the soil!
