ing out to Rocklands Farm Winery in Pool-
esville for a most delightful kind of pastoral
infusion. This 34-acre gem in Montgomery
County’s Agricultural Reserve is only a short
30 minutes from Washington, DC, but far
from the madding crowd. Driving or bik-
ing up Montevideo Road off River Road,
where views of farm fields peek through
the tree-lined rustic road, the land invites
you to just breathe. On your way, you’ll pass
over a gurgling stream on a one-way bridge
and come upon what seems like a timeless,
storybook place. Maybe it’s the imposing
mid-19th century red Seneca sandstone
estate home, or the pretty vineyards, or the
