most obvious people to turn
to are your GP, your health
visitor and any other healthcare
provider. They will often have
the contact details of a number
of charities that will be able
to provide you with specific
support and information, both
on a national and a regional or
local level.

an amazing source of advice
for parents. Try typing in your
child’s disability and see what
comes up for the UK; chances
are there will be a charity or
organisation especially for it.
Other parents. When we spoke
to parents of children with
special needs, they told us that
the support of parents who
knew what they were going
through was invaluable.
