Why and when oxfam was set up?
Oxfam started in 1942 and was named after the oxford commite. They sent food supplies through to the soilders during the second world war. in 1955 they formed oxfam internaitonal which is what you know tody who raise money to help thrid world countires anf prevent hunger and dehydration. Not only do they prevent these things, they fight to demolish these unfair trde rules and to give better health care and education. So far Oxfam is based in 11 countries all over the world and work with over 90 different countries to help fix world poverty.
Oxfam have many fundraising events across the Uk. One of the most popular events is the great north run which is essentially a marathon based in Newcastle. Another event that oxfam hold is Oxjam. Oxjam is local gigs all over the country that help raise money to stop world poverty. you can see any sort of music at these gigs. Lastly there is the London to paris cycle. To register you give in £149. This event also helps towards ending poverty.
