I t’ s walking season for Rob in the Brecon Beacons. He’ s leading various themed walk and talks( Crickhowell and Talgarth walking festivals) as a way of engaging those interested in a dynamic countryside about to undergo great change. The Times has hosted a few more of his letters – rural housing dilemmas, more diverse forestry, and hedgehog’ s habitat – taking an oblique view of entrenched positions and bringing his total to 108 letters published to date. The first day of Hay Literary Festival on the 25 th May is based on agrictech taking the pressure off the environment- perhaps even to free up more space to rewild. That’ s if we can get over our differences in how land can be utilised by a range of multi land users.
