TONY HOWARD The Jordan Trail S ince 1984, Tony Howard and Di Taylor have written four guidebooks to climbs and treks throughout Jordan, describing the forested hills, challenging canyons, rugged mountains and colourful deserts of this uniquely varied and beautiful country, with its many famous Reserves, World Heritage and antiquity sites. In the 1990s they started putting together a 650km country-length Jordan Trail, and with the help of others it was completed in 2016. Last spring Tony and Di joined the First Official Thru-Walk. It is hoped the trail will not only benefit Jordan’s adventure tourism but will also directly aid the economy across the poorer parts of the country. This year’s fully supported Thru-Walk starts in Um Qais 2 March, finishing in Aqaba 14 April. Join for the whole trek or a day or more anywhere along the trail.
