We managed to walk through the snow, finally reaching the clearing. I was so excited to show you what I had made, but didn’t expect it to be that dark. I suppose I misjudged my timing. I was particularly worried at this point, hoping that you would still like the gift. I set up a turret and noticed you getting cold. I am almost sure I saw you shiver. I stepped a little closer to you as the turret tracked the heat pack I set to use as an ignition. Ah, did I never explain this part? Yes, the turret was heat-sensitive and became focused on the ignition that I used to light the forest. The forest lit, and… So did your eyes. When I saw how excited you looked, I felt that I had definitely done something right. I felt happy, seeing you happy.

Symmetra gently touches your cheek again, leaning over to gently kiss your forehead, then your cheek. She smiles as she parts from you. Her hand trails down, soon holding your hand. She squeezes lightly, giving you a loving look. She motions with her other hand to move backwards and lie back. She gives you a teasing smile as she admires you.

“The story was to help you sleep.” She shakes her head. “Come, now. Time to sleep.” She chuckles, hearing you insist you’re fine. She gets up, letting you go, before sliding into bed, beneath the covers beside you. “Shush. It’s time for you to get some rest.” She rests her head against yours for a moment, soon relaxing. “There. Good night.” She thinks better of it, but kisses your lips anyway. “I blame you if I catch your cold.” She’s joking, and her soft laughter somehow helps you sleep a little better that night.
