Last season, Pintscher was the Season Creative Chair for the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Artist-in- Residence at the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and concluded a nine-year term as the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra’s Artist-in-Association. Matthias Pintscher began his conducting studies with Pierre Boulez and Peter Eötvös and enjoys critical acclaim in both composing and conducting. His works have been performed by such orchestras as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Berlin Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Orchestre de Paris. Bärenreiter is his exclusive publisher, and recordings of his compositions can be found on Kairos, EMI, Teldec, Wergo and Winter & Winter. Conrad Tao Conrad Tao has appeared worldwide as a pianist and composer and has been dubbed a musician of “probing intellect and open-hearted vision” by The New York Times. Tao is a recipient of a prestigious Avery Fischer Career Grant and was named a Gilmore Young Artist. Tao’s 2018–19 season began with a New York Philharmonic world premiere commission of Everything Must Go. He also made his LA Opera debut with the West Coast premiere of David Lang’s the loser and made his Los Angeles Philharmonic debut performing Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1. In the 2019–20 season, Tao will be presented in recital by Carnegie Hall, and he will also make his debut in recital at Disney Hall.
