WELCOME BARRY ROSEN, BSO BOARD CHAIR
B
arry Rosen assumed the Chairmanship of the BSO’s Board of Directors this fall,
the result of a long-planned leadership transition. Here are a few things that you
should know about our new Board Chair.
• T
he Chairman and CEO of Gordon Feinblatt LLC and head of the firm’s
Health Care Practice Group, Barry joined the BSO’s Board of Directors in
2014, assumed chairmanship of the Governance Committee in 2016 and has
served as Vice-Chair of the Board since September 2018.
• T
his is not the first time Barry has chaired the Board of an anchor Maryland
organization. Barry’s professional and civic involvement includes service on several
statewide health commissions and the Board of Sponsors for The Sellinger School
of Business and Management at Loyola University (2002–present), as well as both
Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and Lifebridge Health, where he also served
as Chair of Board (1997–2001 and 2001–2004, respectively).
“I am honored to assume this
leadership role at such a
transformational time for a
beloved organization, and I
hope I can count on everyone
who cares about the Baltimore
Symphony Orchestra to play a
part in supporting its future.”
• I n addition to his loyal personal support and subscription attendance at the
BSO (Barry and his wife, Susan, regularly fill their Choose subscription with
a mix of Classical, Off The Cuff and SuperPops events), Barry has stewarded
his firm’s support and engagement of the BSO as an annual concert sponsor.
• B
arry’s skill and collaborative leadership was instrumental in reaching
agreement on the BSO’s recent contract—with key elements such as the
Vision Committee, among others, directly attributable to his voice.
As we welcome Barry Rosen, we also express our deepest gratitude and appreciation
for of one of our most dedicated advocates, supporters and volunteer leaders —the
BSO’s recently appointed Chair Laureate, Barbara Bozzuto. We remain forever
indebted to her for her generosity of spirit and consummate leadership.
