Free Concerts
Throughout
Baltimore
A
t the Baltimore Museum of Industry on January 15, the BSO
launched Symphony in the City, a series of free concerts that
brings the Orchestra out of the concert hall and into community
locations throughout Baltimore City. Made possible by Community
Outreach and Access Sponsor PNC, the programs all include works
by Beethoven as part of the BSO’s Beethoven 2020 celebration, which
recognizes and honors the composer’s 250 th birthday.
Additional supporting partners and venues have included New Psalmist
Baptist Church, the Murphy Fine Arts Center at Morgan State University
and the Baltimore City Department of Recreation & Parks, which will host
an outdoor performance at Patterson Park on Wednesday, May 20 at 7 pm.
Additional dates and venues, including several beyond Baltimore, are to be
announced in the future.
