Music. In 2010, he was made an Officer
of the Most Excellent Order of the
British Empire (OBE) “for services to
music overseas.” He also was awarded
the Verdienstkreuz (am bande) from
Niedersachsen (Germany) in 2011.
In 2016 he was the Christoph Wolff
Distinguished Visiting Scholar at Harvard
and is a frequent visitor to Yale.
Nicholas McGegan last appeared with the
BSO in February 2017, conducting works of
Mozart, Rameau and Schubert.
Boram Kang
Boram Kang joined the
Baltimore Symphony
Orchestra in September
2015. She graduated
from the Eastman
School of Music with a bachelor’s degree in
music, studying with Charles Castleman;
at the Cleveland Institute of Music for
her master’s degree with William Preucil;
and Performance Residency Program at
Carnegie Mellon University with Andrés
Cárdenes. Kang was a Fellow at the
Tanglewood Music Festival during the
summer of 2006 and was a member of
Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan
in 2001, 2002 and 2005. Prior to joining
the BSO, she was Interim Assistant
Concertmaster of the Louisville Orchestra
in 2012 and a fixed fourth chair of
Colorado Symphony from 2013 to 2015.
Boram Kang last appeared with the
BSO as a soloist in June 2017, performing
Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3,
Wyatt Underhill, leader.
Angela Lee
Angela Lee joined the
Baltimore Symphony
Orchestra as an Assistant
Principal Second Violin,
appointed by Marin
Alsop in September 2012.
Lee, a native of Korea, began studying
violin at the age of seven at Carrara
School of Music in Italy, while her father
was a visiting professor at the Carrara
Art College. Since then, Lee continued
