HANDEL’ S MESSIAH with the Missoula Symphony Orchestra, Mendelssohn’ s Elijah with the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, a concert of Mozart arias with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra and the role of Donna Anna in a semi-staged production of Mozart’ s Don Giovanni with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra.
Other recent engagements include Senta in Der fliegende Holländer with Virginia Opera, Poulenc’ s Gloria and Barber’ s Prayers of Kierkegaard with the Charlottesville Symphony Orchestra, Brahms’ Ein deutches Requiem with the Missoula Symphony Orchestra, Mozart’ s Mass in C Minor with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Costa Rica, Fauré’ s Requiem with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and Mahler’ s Symphony No. 4 with the North Carolina Symphony. Pier has also recently appeared in Handel’ s Messiah with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Verdi’ s Requiem and Mozart’ s Requiem with the Charlottesville Symphony, Mendelssohn’ s Elijah with the Colorado Symphony and Mendelssohn’ s Lobgesang and selections from Beethoven’ s Leonore with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. She has also performed Beethoven’ s Symphony No. 9 with Roberto Abbado and given recitals under the auspices of the George London Foundation. She appears as a soloist on a recording of Vaughan Williams’ Dona nobis pacem with David Hill and the BBC Singers on the Naxos label.

Hannah Ludwig
Mezzo-soprano Hannah Ludwig is currently studying at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, PA, where she recently performed the role of Charlotte in Werther, Isabella in L’ italiana in Algieri, Frugola in Il Tabarro and Siebel in Faust between 2014 and 2016. In the 2016 – 2017 season her engagements at AVA included Maddalena in Rigoletto and Third Lady in Mozart’ s The Magic Flute.
While at Pacific Opera Theatre, she performed the role of Meg Page in The Merry Wives of Windsor, Jenny Diver in The Threepenny Opera and Ruggiero in Alcina at the Napa Music Festival. Upcoming appearances include her Dallas Opera debut as Third Lady in Mozart’ s The Magic Flute. During the summer of 2017, she performed the role of Sesto in Mozart’ s La Clemenza di Tito at the Aspen Music Festival, conducted by Jane Glover.

Norman Shankle
American Tenor Norman Shankle is currently enjoying worldwide acclaim for his portrayals of Mozart’ s most famous tenors. The Boston Globe called Shankle“ a real find, a singer of elegance, grace and conviction,” and the San Francisco Chronicle praised him equally as“ clearly a singer to watch.” This season, Shankle sings the tenor solo in Handel’ s Messiah with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and National Philharmonic, with whom he also performs Ferrando in a concert version of Così fan tutte. Last season, he joined Pittsburgh Opera as Elder Barber / Gus Greenlee in The Summer King, a new opera that explores the life of Josh Gibson,“ one of the greatest Negro League baseball players.” He reprises the role this season with Michigan Opera Theatre.
Recent performances include joining The Metropolitan Opera as the Quartet Tenor and to cover the role of Demetrius in The Enchanted Island, as well as for its production of Parsifal; Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville with New Orleans Opera, the Orlando Philharmonic, English National Opera and with Semperoper Dresden; Nick in La fanciulla del West with Opera Omaha and Opera Colorado; Lindoro in L’ italiana in Algeri with Piedmont Opera; Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor with Opera Saratoga; Tamino in The Magic Flute with the Boston Youth Symphony
Orchestra and Michigan Opera Theater; Ramiro in La Cenerentola with the Green Mountain Opera Festival; a concert of arias and duets at the Kennedy Center; Messiah with Pacific Symphony and Phoenix Symphony, where he also performed Handel’ s Nelsonmesse; Mozart’ s Requiem with the City Choir of Washington; and Prunier in La rondine with Skylark Opera.

Sidney Outlaw
Lauded by The New York Times as a“ terrific singer” with a“ deep, rich timbre” and the San Francisco Chronicle as an“ opera powerhouse” Grammy ®- nominated baritone Sidney Outlaw continues to delight audiences in the U. S. and abroad with his rich and versatile baritone and engaging stage presence. Outlaw made his English National Opera debut as Rambo in The Death of Klinghoffer and joined the Metropolitan Opera roster in 2014 – 2015, also for The Death of Klinghoffer. Recent engagements include Mercutio in Roméo et Juliette with Madison Opera, Vaugh Williams’ Dona nobis pacem with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Carnegie Hall appearances for Fauré’ s Requiem and Mechem’ s Songs of the Slave with Manhattan Concert Productions, Bach’ s Mass in B Minor with the Oratorio Society of New York and“ A Tribute to Gershwin,” which toured several cities in Russia through the Cultural Exchange Corporation. Other career highlights include Figaro in The Barber of Seville with Atlanta Opera, the title role in Moses with the American Symphony Orchestra, Malcolm in Malcolm X at New York City Opera, his Spoleto Festival debut as Jake in Porgy and Bess, Papageno in The Magic Flute and a sensational international debut as Guglielmo in Così fan tutte in both Germany and Israel.
