Symphony fund Honor Roll
The Board of Directors of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra established The Legato Circle to honor those individuals who have included a charitable gift to the BSO in their long-term financial plans, including gifts by bequest, trust, life income gift, IRA beneficiary, life insurance or donor advised fund. As in a legato musical line, these special designations ensure the smooth transfer of musical values from this generation to the many following.
Over the years, these legacy gifts, both large and small, have played a significant role in the financial stability of the BSO, supporting the BSO commitment to perform the highest quality symphonic music of all eras that nurtures the human spirit. We gratefully acknowledge the following donors who have let us know that they have included the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in their estate plans:

What does my gift support? Your gift supports every aspect of the BSO’ s work, from the concert hall to the classroom and throughout the community. You are so important to us!
Why does my gift matter? You may not know that ticket sales cover only 40 % of the BSO experience, and we rely on donations of all sizes to make up more than 60 % of the BSO’ s revenue. Your gift is essential and impacts the success of the entire organization.
How do I maximize the impact of my gift? If you work for a company that matches charitable contributions, you can ask your company to help the BSO by matching your gift. A matched gift from your employer may even upgrade your membership level!
If you’ d like to sustain music on an ongoing basis, the BSO also encourages monthly giving. Ask us about setting up monthly installments to keep the music playing.

Musical Gifts
Your BSO musicians need your help to give voice to the music we all love. Did you know orchestras do not own all of the music they perform? They must rent and buy new works every year to fill out the season.
What can you do? You can sponsor an instrument, a full section or a conductor’ s score to ensure there is music on every stand all season long. Let’ s make extraordinary music together.
