Michael Tammaro
Jack Everly
Jack Everly is the principal pops conductor of the Indianapolis and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras, Naples Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Arts Centre Orchestra( Ottawa). He has conducted the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall and appears regularly with the Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom Music Center. This season, Maestro Everly will conduct over 90 performances in more than 20 North American cities.
As music director of the National Memorial Day Concert and A Capitol Fourth on PBS, Everly proudly leads the National Symphony Orchestra in these patriotic celebrations on the National Mall. These concerts attract hundreds of thousands of attendees on the lawn and the broadcasts reach millions of viewers and are some of the very highest rated programming on PBS television.
Originally appointed by Mikhail Baryshnikov, Mr. Everly was music director of
the American Ballet Theatre for 14 years.
In addition to his ABT tenure, he teamed with Marvin Hamlisch on Broadway shows that Mr. Hamlisch scored. He conducted Carol Channing hundreds of times in Hello, Dolly! in two separate Broadway productions.
Maestro Everly, a graduate of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, is
a recipient of the 2015 Indiana Historical Society living legends award and holds an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from Franklin College in his home state of Indiana. He has been a resident of the Indianapolis community for more than 16 years, and when not on the podium you can find Maestro Everly at home with his family which includes Max the wonder dog.
John Waters
Writer / Director Baltimore native John Waters subscribed to Variety at the age of 12, and as a teenager, began making 8-mm underground movies. To date, he’ s made 16 feature films including Pink Flamingos, Polyester, Hairspray, Crybaby and Serial Mom.
Mr. Waters is the author of seven books, including the 2010 Role Models, which earned spots in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times and the San Francisco Chronicle best seller lists. In Carsick, Mr. Waters chronicles his adventure hitchhiking from Baltimore to San Francisco. Published in June 2014, it debuted on the NY Times Bestseller list at # 12.
Mr. Waters is a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and is on the Wexner Center International Arts Advisory Council. A past member of the boards of the Andy Warhol Foundation and Printed Matter, he was selected as a juror for the 2011 Venice Biennale. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Maryland Film Festival and has been a key participant in the Provincetown International Film Festival since it began in 1999. In September 2014, the Film Society of Lincoln Center honored John Waters’ 50 years in filmmaking with a 10-day retrospective entitled“ Fifty Years of John Waters: How Much Can You Take?”
Beth Leavel
Velma von Tussle Beth Leavel received Tony, Drama Desk, NY Outer Critics Circle and L. A. Drama Critics awards for the title character in The Drowsy Chaperone, as well as nominations for her role as Florence Greenberg in Baby It’ s You. She recently made her New York Cabaret debut at 54 Below to sold-out audiences. In addition to numerous regional credits, Ms. Leavel originated the role of June Adams in The Bandstand at the Paper Mill Playhouse. Other Broadway roles include Emily in Elf, Donna in Mamma Mia!, Frau Blucher in Young Frankenstein, Dorothy Brock in the revival of 42 nd Street, Tess in the original company of Crazy For You, Ellie in Hal Prince’ s Showboat, and Anytime Annie( her Broadway debut) in 42 nd Street. Ms. Leavel was also seen in the City Center Encores! production of No, No, Nanette. Ms. Leavel has an MFA from University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Paul C. Vogt
Edna Turnblad Originally from Buffalo, New York, Paul Vogt earned recognition as Mrs. Garrett from The Facts of Life in NBC’ s The Rerun Show. Soon after, he became a permanent cast member on MADtv on FOX, and appeared in several movies directed by filmmaker Garry Marshall, including The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Valentine’ s Day, Raising Helen and most recently, Mother’ s Day.
Mr. Vogt’ s film and television credits include Chicago Hope, In-Laws, Arrested Development, Raising Hope, Reno 911, Glee, Grey’ s Anatomy and Hannah Montana.
Mr. Vogt made his Broadway Debut in Hairspray! as Edna Turnblad in 2007 with Jere Burns, and since then, he’ s played Tracy’ s loveable mom all over the country.
Mr. Vogt’ s first children’ s book Billy Butler and the SnowDog, will be released in 2016 in time for the holidays. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theater from the State University College at Buffalo.
