John Storgårds
acclaim throughout the U.S., winning
a Grammy in 2011 for best classical
instrumental soloist for his recording
of the concerto with the Nashville
Symphony. Mr. Lamb also gave the
world premiere of Tan Dun’s Concerto for
Water Percussion, commissioned for him
by the New York Philharmonic, and has
performed it with the Philharmonic in
South America, as well as in the U.S., Asia
and Europe with leading orchestras.
A faculty member at the Manhattan
School of Music since 1989, Mr. Lamb
has led clinics and master classes all over
the world. In 1999, he received a Fulbright
Scholars Award to lecture and conduct
research in Australia.
A native of Flint, MI, Mr. Lamb is
a former member of The Metropolitan
Opera Orchestra and Buffalo
Philharmonic and a graduate of the
Eastman School of Music.

Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra
Ottawa, John Storgårds has a dual career
as a conductor and violin virtuoso and
is widely recognized for his creative flair
for programming.
Mr. Storgårds appears with orchestras throughout the world. His North
American appearances include the Boston
Symphony at Tanglewood, the Cleveland
Orchestra at Blossom, and the National,
Toronto, St. Louis and Houston symphonies among many others.
Mr. Storgårds’ recording of the complete Nielsen symphonies with the BBC
Philharmonic was released in May 2015
on the Chandos label. His recording of
the complete Sibelius symphonies, also
with the BBC Philharmonic, was released
in 2014 on the same label. The collection includes the Three Late Fragments,
thought to be sketches for an eighth
symphony. He has also released discs of
works by Korngold and Rautavaara, the
latter receiving a Grammy nomination
and a Gramophone Award in 2012; a
disc of Holmboe symphonies with the
Lapland Chamber Orchestra, shortlisted
for a Gramophone Award; and a recording
of Pēteris Vasks’ Second Symphony and
Violin Concerto, in which Mr. Storgårds
is featured as soloist, which won the
Classical Disc of the Year Award.

the BSO in May 2003, performing Tan
Dun's Water Concerto, Mario Venzago,
conductor.

Choral Arts Society
The Baltimore Choral Arts Society, now
in its 50th season, is one of Maryland’s
premier cultural institutions. The Symphonic Chorus, Full Chorus, Orchestra,
Chamber Chorus, as well as men’s and
women’s choruses perform throughout
the mid-Atlantic region as well as in New
York and Europe.
Music Director Tom Hall is one of
the most highly regarded performers in
choral music today. Since 1982, Mr. Hall
has added more than 100 new works to
the BCAS repertoire, and has premiered
