Jeremy Denk
Winner of a 2013 MacArthur“ Genius” grant, the 2014 Avery Fisher Prize and Musical America’ s 2014 Instrumentalist of the Year award, pianist Jeremy Denk has appeared as soloist with orchestras throughout the U. S., including the New York and Los Angeles philharmonics, and the symphony orchestras of Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and Philadelphia.
Last season, he became an Artistic Partner of the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and performed Bach concertos with the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields. Following the release of his recording of Goldberg Variations— which reached number one on Billboard’ s classical chart— he performed the piece throughout Europe, a tour that included his debut at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
Mr. Denk has written about music for the New Yorker, the New Republic, The Guardian, and the New York Times Book Review. One of his New Yorker contributions,“ Every Good Boy Does Fine,” forms the basis of a memoir that will be published by Random House.
