Tony DeSare
Jack Everly is the Principal Pops Conductor of the Indianapolis and Baltimore symphony orchestras , Naples Philharmonic Orchestra , and the National Arts Centre Orchestra ( Ottawa ). He has conducted the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl , The New York Pops at Carnegie Hall , and the San Francisco Symphony . This season , Everly will conduct over 90 performances in more than 22 North American cities .
As Music Director of the National Memorial Day Concert and A Capitol Fourth on PBS , Everly leads the National Symphony Orchestra in these celebrations on the West Lawn of the U . S . Capitol . These broadcasts reach millions of viewers and represent some of the highestrated programming on PBS television .
Recordings include In The Presence featuring the Czech Philharmonic and Daniel Rodriguez ; Sandi Patty ’ s Broadway Stories ; the soundtrack to Disney ' s The Hunchback of Notre Dame ; and Everything ' s Coming Up Roses : The Complete Overtures Of Jule Styne .
Originally appointed by Mikhail Baryshnikov , Everly was conductor of the American Ballet Theatre ( ABT ) for 14 years . He teamed up with Marvin Hamlisch on Broadway shows and conducted Carol Channing many times in Hello , Dolly !
A graduate of the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University , Everly was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Music in 2021 from his alma mater .
The Brooklyn-born and raised actress , Capathia Jenkins , recently released her single “ I Am Strong ” and her critically acclaimed CD Phenomenal Woman the Maya Angelou Songs with her collaborator Louis Rosen . She starred as Medda in the hit Disney production of Newsies on Broadway . She has also been seen on Broadway in The Civil War ; The Look of Love ; Caroline , or Change ; and Martin Short : Fame Becomes Me . Jenkins was also seen on the live NBC production of The Wiz .
An active concert artist , Jenkins has appeared with numerous orchestras around the world including the Cleveland Orchestra , San Francisco Symphony , Philly Pops , Cincinnati Pops , and the National Symphony Orchestra . Jenkins returns to Carnegie Hall with the New York Pops and Tony DeSare for a new concert in February 2021 . Her latest concert , Aretha : A Tribute , is being performed with numerous symphonies throughout the U . S .

Tony DeSare performs with infectious joy , wry playfulness , and robust musicality . From jazz clubs to Carnegie Hall , DeSare has brought his fresh take on old school classics around the globe . DeSare has four Top 10 Billboard jazz albums under his belt and has been featured on CBS ’ The Early Show , NPR , A Prairie Home Companion , and The Today Show . DeSare ’ s most recent album , Lush Life , debuted at No . 3 on the Billboard Traditional Jazz Chart .
DeSare is also an accomplished , awardwinning composer . He not only won first place in the USA Songwriting Competition but has also written the theme song for My Date with Drew , several broadcast commercials , and full soundtracks for the Hallmark Channel ’ s Love Always , Santa and Lifetime ’ s Nanny Nightmare and A Welcome Home Christmas . His sound is romantic and swinging , but what really sets De- Sare apart is his ability to write original material that sounds fresh and contemporary while paying homage to the Great American Songbook .
