Day 1- Depart U. S.
• Overnight flight to Bilbao, Spain
Day 2 – Bilbao
• Arrive in Bilbao
• Transfer to hotel and meet fellow travelers, including those who took our optional Carcassonne extension
Day 3 – Explore Bilbao
• Welcome Briefing and panoramic bus tour
• Walking tour of medieval Old Town(“ Seven Streets” neighborhood)
• Free afternoon with included Guggenheim Museum tickets
• Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant
Day 4 – Guernica & Basque Traditions
• Visit Guernica and the Peace Museum
• Lunch and talo bread tasting at a Basque farmhouse
• Home-Hosted Dinner with a local family
Day 5 – San Sebastian & Transfer to Pamplona
• Walking tour of San Sebastian’ s old quarter and Miramar Gardens
• Basque lunch at a local restaurant
• Transfer to Pamplona, orientation walk, and evening at leisure
Day 6 – Walk the Camino de Santiago & Pamplona
• Hike sections of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route
• Discussion about the running of the bulls with a local resident
Day 7 – Explore Ubidea & Transfer to León
• Visit Ubidea’ s archaeological center and meet an archaeologist
• Lunch at a Basque tavern
• Walk a stretch of the Camino Frances in Castrojeriz
• Transfer to León
Day 8 – León Discovery & A Day in the Life
• Walking tour of León’ s historic center and cathedral
• Visit a rural Spanish farm, help with daily tasks, and enjoy a farm lunch
• Afternoon free to explore León
Day 9 – Santa Colomba de Samoza & Santiago de Compostela
• Visit Santa Colomba de Samoza and meet a local beekeeper
• Lunch in a traditional Maragato house
• Explore Villafranca del Bierzo, then transfer to Santiago de Compostela
Day 10 – Santiago de Compostela
• Walk the last half mile of the Camino de Santiago
• Guided walking tour of Santiago’ s cathedral and historic squares

• Cruise the Douro River and visit a quinta( wine farm)
