DAY 1 • Depart U. S. Depart today for your flight to Buenos Aires, Argentina.

DAY 5 • El Chaltén • Kayaking on Rio La Leona • Transfer to El Calafate • Home-Hosted Dinner Set off on a one-hour kayaking adventure along La Leona River, one of the beautiful rivers of the Patagonian steppe. Afterwards, we’ ll enjoy a snack at a historic estancia( ranch) and then begin our transfer to El Calafate. This evening, we’ ll visit some local homes in El Calafate during to enjoy a Home- Hosted Dinner. Meals: B, D | Mirador del Lago or similar
DAY 6 • El Calafate • Perito Moreno Glacier Enjoy a full-day excursion to Los Glaciares National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we’ ll visit Perito Moreno Glacier, a 200-foot-high, 3-mile-wide wall of bluish ice that is slowly advancing into Lake Argentino. We’ ll return to our hotel in El Calafate for your own discoveries. Meals: B, L | Mirador del Lago or similar

DAY 9 • Morning hike in Torres del Paine • Afternoon Horseback riding in Torres del Paine We’ ll set off for another visit to Torres del Paine, possibly to explore Lago Grey, that offers breathtaking views of the Paine Massif and Grey Glacier. This afternoon, we’ ll explore Torres del Paine by horseback, enjoying a ride along some of the park’ s placid shorelines and glacial creeks to take in the natural beauty from a different vantage point. DAY 10 • Return to U. S. Depart to Puerto Natales for a domestic flight to Santiago, where we’ ll catch our international flight back to the U. S.

DAY 2 • Buenos Aires, Argentina You’ ll arrive in Argentina this morning. An O. A. T. representative will meet you and assist with the transfer to your hotel. This evening, we’ ll head to a nearby restaurant for a Welcome Dinner to celebrate our upcoming discoveries.

DAY 3 • Fly to El Calafate • Overland to El Chaltén • Hike to Mirador de Los Condores Fly to El Calafate this morning, and travel overland to El Chaltén, a mountain town at the edge of the Patagonian Ice Field and Argentina’ s trekking hub. Then, set off on our first hike to Mirador de Los Condores for scenic vistas overlooking the town and the rugged Andes beyond— a preview of the epic hiking trails that await. DAY 4 • El Chaltén • Full-day hike in Los Glaciares National Park Set off for a full-day hike in El Chaltén, including a picnic lunch, to immerse ourselves in the dramatic scenery of Los Glaciares National Park and the Fitz Roy massif. The iconic mountain was named for Robert |
DAY 7 • Overland to Torres del Paine National Park • Sheep ranch visit We’ ll depart early today for our overland transfer to Torres del Paine. Along the way, we’ ll stop at a working sheep ranch, where we’ ll meet the owners, witness a sheep-shearing demonstration, and enjoy a traditional Argentinean lunch of BBQ lamb. Then, we’ ll cross over the Argentinean border into Chile and arrive at our hotel just outside the gate to Torres del Paine. Meals: B, L, D | Rio Serrano Hotel or similar
DAY 8 • Hiking in Torres del Paine National Park Set off with our Trip Experience Leader and a local guide for a hike in Torres del Paine, a half million acres of pristine wilderness at the ends of the earth. Torres del Paine is named for the trio of towering granite peaks that preside over an eastern spur of the Andes called the Paine Massif. We’ ll also stop to enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park. This afternoon features another hike to a different region of the park, taking in more of the scenic splendor created by glaciation of the last Ice Age. Meals: B, L, D | Rio Serrano Hotel or similar
