DAY 6 • Geraci Siculo • Cultural immersion in Petralia Soprana-Borgo Raffo We’ ll visit Borgo Raffo, a tiny hamlet of the hilltop town of Petralia Soprana, and meet with family members of Epifanio Li Puma. Then, we’ ll help prepare some local dishes and sit down for lunch with members of the community. After our meal, some local musicians will test out our La Cordella dancing skills before we return to Giraci Siculo. Meals: B, L, D | Hotel in Geraci Siculo or similar

DAY 3 • Taormina • Sicilian cooking class Enjoy a walking tour of Taormina along the city’ s main street, Corso Umberto; the 13th-century duomo; and Piazza IX Aprile. Then, we’ ll walk over to Taormina’ s most illustrious relic of the past— the Greek-Roman theatre. DAY 4 • Randazzo • Music workshop visit • Etna wine-tasting Discover Mount Etna’ s bucolic wine region, beginning with Linguaglossa, where we’ ll board a vintage, narrow-gauge train for a scenic journey to reach Randazzo. We’ ll discover the city’ s medieval charm during a walking tour, and also stop at the home and workshop of a local musician to learn how to craft a lute, an ancient Sicilian instrument. Later, we’ ll visit the hillside village of Castiglione di Sicilia, where we’ ll have lunch featuring traditional Sicilian dishes paired with some of Etna’ s renowned wines. DAY 7 • Overland to Cefalù • Shepherd experience • Home-Hosted Visit in Polizzi Generosa • Hike up Cefalù’ s La Rocca On our way to Cefalù, we’ ll set off on a scenic hike in Madonie Natural Park to meet a shepherd who will show us the traditional method of collecting sheep’ s milk and producing fresh ricotta. Then, we’ ll stop in the ancient clifftop village of Polizzi Generosa for a Home-Hosted Lunch. DAY 8 • Cefalù • Santo Stefano di Camastra Discover Cefalù on a walking tour through the town’ s old defensive walls; lavatoio, a cluster of medieval wash houses; Porta Pescara, the old fisherman’ s gate; and Piazza del Duomo, home to one of most splendid Norman-style cathedrals in Sicily. This afternoon, visit Santo Stefano di Camastra, a picturesque coastal village, renowned for producing hand-crafted ceramics, one of the oldest Sicilian traditions.
