Relatively small in size, Amboseli is renowned for its abundant wildlife and large herds of wild elephants, along with wildebeest, zebras, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and more than 400 bird species. Enjoy a game-viewing drive on our way to our safari camp near the entrance to the park, where we’ ll arrive in time for lunch. Then, you’ ll have some free time before setting off on another game-viewing drive to seek out the wildlife along the savannas, wetlands, and varied landscapes of the park. After our visit, we’ ll learn about
the Controversial Topic of Kenya’ s increasing concerns about deforestation and its impact on diminishing resources along with the flora and fauna. Along with the Big Five, the park is home to myriad wildlife, including cheetahs, hyenas, hippos, crocodiles, baboons, warthogs, gazelles, zebras, and many more. It’ s also the only wildlife reserve with an indigenous black rhino population. When we return to our lodge this afternoon, you’ ll have free time to freshen up and relax before dinner. Or, seek out more lions— Masai Mara is considered one of the best places in Africa to spot lions, which is probably why the popular BBC series Big Cat Diaries is filmed here. Meals: B, L, D | Fig Tree Camp or similar
