DAY 9 • Kruger National Park • Morning and afternoon game-viewing drives
Our wildlife discoveries continue with morning and afternoon game-viewing drives in Kruger National Park.

DAY 10 • Fly to Cape Town • Overland to Stellenbosch
We’ ll fly to Cape Town this morning, and then transfer to our hotel in Stellenbosch. After a brief orientation walk led by your Trip Experience Leader, the remainder of the day is yours.

DAY 11 • Stellenbosch vineyards tour This morning, we’ ll visit one of the historic wine estates located in the renowned“ Golden Triangle” of Stellenbosch, whose winemaking tradition dates back more than 350 years. We’ ll learn about the history of wines produced around Stellenbosch during a tour of the vineyard and wine cellar, followed by a tasting of the wines produced here and lunch.

DAY 12 • Visit Paarl Valley and Franschhoek On our way to the Paarl Valley, we’ ll stop at Spice Route Farm, an historic wine farm set along the scenic slopes of Paarl Mountain. This afternoon, we’ ll make a brief stop at the Victor Verster Maximum Security Prison to see the bronze statue of Nelson Mandela with his fist raised in the well-recognized symbol of defiance. After that, we’ ll visit Franschhoek. Meaning
“ French Corner” in Dutch, Franschhoek was settled by French Huguenots fleeing prosecution in the 17th and 18th centuries. Invited here by Dutch Protestants, the Huguenots also brought their knowledge of winemaking to the region. Then, we’ ll enjoy a traditional South African braai barbecue at a local restaurant.

DAY 13 • Overland to Cape Town • Table Mountain
• District 6 Museum and Cape Town tour
We’ ll drive to Cape Town this morning and then travel by cable car up to Table Mountain, one of Cape Town’ s most dramatic natural landmarks. Then, we’ ll set off for a walking tour of the bustling South Africa capital, including a stop at the District Six Museum, where we’ ll meet with a former resident. District Six had been a vibrant, mixed-race community in the heart of Cape Town, until non-whites were forcibly removed in the 1960s and their homes bulldozed. After joining some locals for lunch, we’ ll head to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, a bustling harbor whose maritime legacy dates back more than 350 years. Then, we’ ll meet with one of the former wardens at Robben Island who will enlighten us on what life was like for Nelson Mandela during the 18 years he spent at the infamous island prison.

DAY 14 • Botanical Gardens of Kirstenbosch • Explore Cape Peninsula • Controversial Topic: Poaching
Our full-day tour of Cape Peninsula begins at the lovely National Botanical Gardens of Kirstenbosch. Then, we’ ll stop at Hout Bay, a picturesque fishing town, where
we’ ll meet with a member of the community to learn about the Controversial Topic of Poaching versus Survival. After lunch at a local restaurant, we’ ll stop along the False Bay coastline for a chance to see the penguins at Boulders Beach.

DAY 15 • Cape Town Enjoy your final day in Cape Town to relax or explore on your own. This evening, we’ ll enjoy a Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 16 • Return to U. S. Head to the airport for your return flights to the U. S. or to begin your post-trip extension to Namibia: The Skeleton Coast & Sossusvlei.
