DAY 9 • Trondheim • Nidaros Cathedral • Higher education in Norway conversation
Explore Trondheim today, including its old veitenes( narrow alleys), the Archbishop’ s Palace, and its historic 17th-century warehouses. Next, visit one of Norway’ s iconic pilgrimage sites, Nidaros Cathedral. Originally built in the 1000s, the cathedral houses the remains of St. Olav. This afternoon, join a conversation about Norway’ s education system with a local expert.

DAY 10 • Vega • Begin Arctic Circle crossing Discover the Vega Archipelago, comprised of over 6,500 islands located just south of the Arctic Circle. This farflung region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its unique tradition of eider duck farming. Tonight, we’ ll begin our journey across the Arctic Circle.

DAY 11 • Lofoten Islands • Lofoten Seafood Center • Henningsvaer
Awake this morning having crossed the Arctic Circle. Learn more about Norwegian aquaculture during a tour of the Lofoten Seafood Center, followed by a tasting. Then, explore the small fishing village of Henningsvaer, where we’ ll find brightly-colored homes scattered across a tiny cluster of islands. More than just a fishing village, Henningsvaer is also a cultural capital with a burgeoning arts scene.

DAY 13 • Disembark ship • Tromso • Fly to Oslo After we disembark, we’ ll discover the city of Tromso. A city of more than 50,000 inhabitants, Tromso sprawls across three fjord-indented islands. We’ ll next ride a gondola up the slopes of Mount Storsteinen. Later, we’ ll head to the airport and fly to Oslo.

DAY 14 • Return to U. S. Transfer to the airport for your flight home. Or, begin your post-trip extension in Oslo: Norway’ s Cultural Capital.
