DAY 2 • Rome Arrive in Rome and transfer to your hotel. Meet travelers who took our optional Tuscany: Florence & Siena pre-trip extension.

DAY 3 • Explore Rome Discover the highlights on display within the“ Eternal City”— from the Spanish Steps to the Pantheon and more— during an included walking tour of Rome, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY 4 • Explore Roman Forum This morning, we explore the Roman Forum, the greatest architectural vestige from Imperial Rome. Then, discover more of Rome on your own and mingle with the locals.

DAY 5 • Rome • Sicily-Rome American Cemetery • Gaeta • Embark ship
Visit the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial. This former battlefield cemetery is the final resting place for more than 7,000 American soldiers during World War II. Then, continue on to the port town of Gaeta, where our ship will be waiting. This evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner aboard ship.

DAY 6 • Explore Pozzuoli Embark on a walking tour of Pozzuoli accompanied by a local guide, exploring Flavian Amphitheater, the third largest amphitheater in Italy. Later, enjoy dinner onboard, followed by a Neapolitan folk music performance.

DAY 7 • Sorrento • Home-Hosted Lunch Disembark our ship and tender to the cliff-side town of Sorrento. Enjoy a discovery walk, and then learn what it’ s like to live and work here when we join a local family for a Home-Hosted Lunch. Return to our ship later and begin sailing toward Salerno, witnessing the colorful Amalfi Coast during a scenic cruise.

DAY 8 • Salerno • Paestum • Buffalo mozzarella farm • World War II conversation
Tour Paestum, an ancient Greco-Roman city. Then visit a local farm to sample buffalo mozzarella cheese. Return to Salerno later for a discovery walk, followed by a conversation about the city’ s World War II history.

DAY 9 • Salerno • Optional Pompeii tour Explore Salerno independently, or join the half-day optional tour to Pompeii, witnessing the devastation caused when Mount Vesuvius erupted almost 2,000 years ago.

DAY 10 • Explore Lipari Enjoy a walking tour of Lipari, the largest of the volcanic Aeolian Islands off the coast of Sicily, including a tasting of the famous Sicilian cannoli, filled with sweet ricotta cheese.
