DAY 1 • Depart U. S. Fly overnight to Buenos Aires today.
DAY 2 • Arrive in Buenos Aires, Argentina Arrive in Buenos Aires and transfer to your hotel. Later, meet your Trip Experience Leader and your 20-24 fellow travelers, including those who’ ve taken the pre-trip extension to Santiago & Easter Island’ s Sacred Sites.

DAY 3 • Buenos Aires • Controversial Topic: The“ Disappeared” of Argentina • Home- Hosted Dinner
Embark on a half-day tour of Buenos Aires, featuring the Avenida 9 de Julio, Plaza de Mayo, and La Boca district. We’ ll also discuss the Controversial Topic of the people kidnapped, tortured, and killed during Argentina’ s military dictatorship of the 1970s. After, enjoy a Home-Hosted Dinner with an Argentinean family.

DAY 4 • El Calafate, Patagonia Fly to El Calafate, a boomtown in the rugged land of Patagonia. After transferring to our hotel, you’ ll have an orientation walk with your Trip Experience Leader, and later, a dinner at a local’ s residence.

DAY 5 • Los Glaciares National Park • Perito Moreno Glacier • Optional wine tasting tour
Enjoy a full-day excursion to Los Glaciares National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that comprises more than 1,700 square miles and nearly 50 large glaciers. Our ultimate destination is Perito Moreno Glacier, towering nearly 200 feet above Lake Argentino. The rest of the evening is at your leisure. Or, you may join an optional tour to La Tienda de Vinos, a wine bar where we’ ll sample five regional vintages.

DAY 6 • Transfer to Chile • Torres del Paine National Park
Head overland to Chile and Torres del Paine National Park, centered around granite peaks that rise above the Patagonian steppe. After crossing the border into Chile, we’ ll arrive at the park in the afternoon to enjoy sightseeing and a wealth of photo opportunities.

DAY 7 • Torres del Paine National Park Embark on an early hike through the Glacier Grey area of Torres del Paine. Then, we continue our discoveries on an afternoon walk to the beach at Laguna Larga.

DAY 8 • Torres del Paine • Ranch visit • Puerto Natales
Continue exploring Torres del Paine this morning. Then, set off to Pingo Salvaje ranch, where we’ ll meet the owners and embark on a horseback ride. We’ ll enjoy a barbecue dinner before we set off toward Puerto Natales, where we’ ll stay for the night.

DAY 9 • Puerto Natales • Punta Arenas • Embark ship
Drive to Punta Arenas, a bustling port overlooking the Strait of Magellan. We’ ll board our ship, our home for the next four nights as we cruise the waters surrounding Tierra del Fuego. Tonight we gather for a Welcome Dinner onboard.

DAY 10 • Ainsworth Bay • Tuckers Islets Enter the Almirantazgo Inlet and sail into Ainsworth Bay, mooring near the Marinelli Glacier. During a shore excursion( weather permitting), we hope to observe a colony of elephant seals. We continue

On Day 8, visit a 17-thousand-acre Patagonian ranch, where we’ ll learn about the gaucho( cowboy) lifestyle and embark on a scenic horseback ride.
