Take a walking tour of Bolzano this morning. Then embark a cable car ride high above Ritten’ s scenic plateau. After returning to Bolzano, visit the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology— also known as the Ötzi the Iceman museum.

This morning we’ ll hike in the Dolomites to witness some of the dramatic beauty that has earned the mountain range recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, enjoy a mountain picnic lunch. Next, drive to San Candido. Also called Innichen, San Candido is situated right on the border of Austria and is part of Tre Cime Natural Park.

Hike around the vibrant blue Lake Braies today. Then delve into Alpine Europe’ s history when you visit a WWII bunker before lunch at a local chalet.
