ITINERARY
DAY 1 • Depart U. S. Depart the U. S. today on your overnight flight to Naples.
DAY 2 • Arrive in Naples, Italy Upon arrival in Naples, you’ ll be greeted at the airport by an O. A. T. representative who will assist you to your hotel. There, you’ ll meet your Trip Experience Leader, as well as travelers who arrived early in Naples and those who took our Tuscany, Abruzzo & the Apennine Mountains pre-trip extension.

DAY 3 • Naples • Archaeological Museum
• Controversial Topic: The Camorra crime syndicate
We’ ll explore Naples with a local guide before making our way to the National Archaeological Museum, where we’ ll discover the world’ s finest collection of Pompeiian frescoes and mosaics. Later today, we’ ll discuss the Controversial Topic of the Camorra, a mafia organization based in Campania, with a local expert. This evening, we’ ll toast to the discoveries ahead at a Welcome Dinner.

DAY 4 • Gragnano • A Day in the Life of an Italian pasta factory
We’ ll travel to Gragnano, the unassuming hilltop town where dried pasta was born. Our destination is a pasta factory, where we’ ll enjoy a quintessentially Italian
A Day in the Life experience. During our visit, we’ ll learn about pasta making and may have an opportunity to assist with production. Our discoveries conclude with a hands-on cooking demonstration, followed by lunch at the factory.

DAY 5 • Pompeii • Winery visit & tasting We’ ll explore the legendary site of Pompeii this morning, then discover what modern-day life is like in the foothills of Mount Vesuvius during a visit to a family-owned winery. We’ ll enjoy lunch at the winery, featuring regionally inspired dishes and a variety of wines, followed by a tour.

DAY 6 • Naples • Optional Vesuvius experience • Home-Hosted Dinner
Enjoy a full day to pursue your own interests in Naples. Or, if your interest in Mount Vesuvius remains piqued, you might choose to embark on an optional tour to the National Park of Vesuvio, which includes a guided hike near the cone of the volcano and lunch at a local restaurant. This evening, we’ ll split into smaller groups for our Home-Hosted Dinner.

DAY 7 • Ferry to Ischia Island • Aragonese Castle Travel to Molo Beverello this morning, where we’ ll catch a ferry to Ischia Island— our home for the next three nights. Following lunch at a local restaurant upon our arrival, we’ ll explore Aragonese Castle, which is
perched atop a tidal island that is connected to Ischia via a stone walkway.

DAY 8 • Serrara Fontana & Sant’ Angelo Today’ s discoveries take us to the most elevated village on Ischia Island— Serrara Fontana, which offers superb panoramic views. From there, we’ ll head to Sant’ Angelo, one of the most isolated and laidback villages on the island.
