DAY 11 • Levada walk • Visit local rum factory We ’ ll begin this morning with a walk along a levada , a man-made irrigation channel designed to support local agriculture . Afterwards , we ’ ll visit one of the oldest rum factories in the island .

DAY 12 • Funchal • Western Madeira optional tour This morning , you may join our optional tour to western Madeira , featuring stunning views at the sea cliff of Cabo Girão , lush mountain scenery at the whitewashed village of Curral das Freiras , and local interaction in the fishing village of Câmara de Lobos . Lunch is included with this optional tour .

DAY 13 • Funchal • Marine wildlife boating tour
Board a small Zodiac craft in search of sperm whales , dolphins , and other marine wildlife . During this excursion , you ’ ll learn why these waters are an ideal home for them and what role they play in the local ecosystem . Tonight enjoy an included Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant .
