The Eagle arrived on the

East River with a welcome parade consisting of NYPD , FDNY , Coast Guard Station New York , and even an air escort with Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod ' s Jayhawk helicopter .

Thanks to NYPD and FDNY for clearing the way , and to McAllister Towing for that final push to the pier .

We had quite a warm welcome with family , friends , tourists and locals , all interested to watch the Eagle pull in . It was even exciting enough to be the backdrop for a spontaneous proposal . Congratulations on the engagement !

When the Coast Guard Barque Eagle was moored at Pier 17 , it was time for the fun to start ! Just look for the 295-foot white ship with the racing stripe .
