District South, Division 11, Flotilla 13, gained a great asset. Auxiliarist Mordechai Meisels became a member of the Auxiliary Chaplain Support Program. As a certified Auxiliary Chaplain, he will be supplementing and supporting Navy Chaplains serving with the Coast Guard by expanding Religious Ministry within the Coast Guard to better meet the needs of the Coast Guard members and their families.
Chaplain Meisels has been involved with the clergy for many years. His education started by completing the Clinical Pastoral Course (CPE). Then he became Board Certified with the Spiritual Care Association. With these credentials he started his path to serving as a Chaplain. Starting as volunteer with a local Burial Society he comforted families in their grief during their loss of loved ones. This was just the first step down the path which lead him to Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where he currently is assisting and comforting patients and families during their trying times.
