He was honored to be offered a chance to lead Color Guard at the nationally televised 2020 Veterans Day NY Ranger Game at Madison Square Garden. In November 2019, Jason was honored to be part of the Color Guard during a naming ceremony for two new Sentinel Class cutters. "Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Karl Schultz made the announcement in New York City’s Battery Park that the new cutters will be named in honor of Port Security Specialist 2nd Class Vincent Danz and Machinery Technician 1st Class Jeffrey Palazzo, both Coast Guard heroes who also served in the FDNY and NYPD respectively, and lost their lives responding on 9/11. It's not every day that someone of Jason's rank gets to have this honor.
